Back In The Saddle Again - Second (or more) Time Around

In prior generations most people thought they were marrying for keeps. Now it is estimated that a good 50-60% of all marriages end in divorce. In this day and age it is nothing to get married several times with kids from more than one spouse and large extended families.

As Baby Boomers approach their 50’s and early 60’s many have found themselves alone, having been divorced at least once, and even for a second or third time. Since most people don’t want to grow old by themselves, the baby boomers find themselves back in the dating scene, which now is very much different then when we first dated. Dating, particularly at an older age than the last time a baby boomer dated, can be frightening. Fear not!

Connecting online gives you a chance to slowly get to know someone, hey...a lot of someones! You don't have to do anything until you feel comfortable. As you spend time talking with people, getting to know them, you will find that you become more and more confident about yourself and taking a chance at love again.

One of the best ways, besides being set-up by a friend, is online dating, trust me. There are many online dating sites for Baby Boomers. Check some of them out here (more to come): http://www.babyboomersunited.com/BabyBoomer-Online-Dating.htm

Do You Remember When We Ate.....

Can you remember when we ate things like "jaw breakers", "ju-ju bes", "lick-a-made", "fizzes", "Candy Cigarettes", "Candy Necklaces", "Wax Lips" and we were only 2 or 3 then! If you haven't broken out laughing, or at least cracked a smile your at the wrong blog.

Retirement - Gezzzz the "R" Word

For some retirement will be a struggle, for others retirement no longer signals the end of working, but more of a self examination of self and/or lifestyle change(s). With technology, the 'retiree' now has multiple options. You can continue to work (although most likely part-time or through an online entrepreneurial business), return to school for a new career path. or simply enjoying downtime and possibly travel.

Whether you choose to work, or have to, keeping your mind and body active, no matter what you do, it's critical to keeping you alert and young in body/mind/spirit. And hey, we will never really grow old ;-)

Introducing Baby Boomers United

Welcome to our new Blog!

WHO REMEMBERS WOODSTOCK AND ACTUALLY MIGHT’VE BEEN THERE!

We, the Baby-Boomers who have shaped our country and our future. We the Baby-Boomers who took to the streets to protest everything from civil rights to animal rights to foreign wars. We promoted free love, burned bras and tried to legalize… legalize (pause; remembers) oh, yeah— pot. Our history lives in our music, books, movies, television shows, and clothing.

We grew up the most affluent generation ever, living through the longest and strongest period of national prosperity this continent has seen. Yes, we’re a special bunch. To know us, is to love us. We pissed off our parents with our anti-war protests, our long hair, and with almost every breath we took. Well, it’s payback time because we get to pick out their nursing homes now.

What to experience the past, or prepare for the future? Check us out here: http://www.babyboomersunited.com/
