Sit-N-Walk – A Great Way To Start Moving Those Legs!

You know I am very big on us Baby Boomers getting some sort of exercise. I also know that not all of us can do the same type of exercise due to mobility issues or illness.

Sitting around too much and getting very little exercise can be harmful at out age. It is clear, after all, that a sedentary lifestyle can have a negative effect on circulation. Sit-N-Walk is a patented portable foot exerciser that provides gentle and beneficial exercise as you sit in a chair, talk on the phone, sun on the patio, or watch TV.

Get on the road to improving your health without buying expensive, space-hoarding exercise machines or joining an expensive health club. This device is patented and recommended by doctors. Potential benefits the doctors cited include a possible reduction in the risk of deep vein thrombosis—a blood clot that develops usually in a deep vein in a leg, often as a result of prolonged physical immobility. The Sit-N-Walk may also help offer relief from varicose veins and help to reduce leg swelling.

Exercising After A Long Spell Of Inactivity

Many boomers may find it difficult to exercise, either because of lack of time or because of health issues. As we are aging exercise, in some form, does become a priority for our overall health.

I exercised all my young life. I exercised religiously as the years went on, though I was more into power walking in my 30′s than sit ups and took up Tai Chi as well. Then I started my own business 7 years ago, a web design company, and, yes, I sit at the computer all day. Add a few surgeries in there and exercise, not so much anymore.

I started thinking about my lack of exercise. I have been noticing I have less energy, more aches, weird feelings in my legs, etc. So I thought it was time I get back into some form of exercising.

If you have been inactive for a long period of time, like years, you may want to start out with just stretching. One of the best practices to start with, in my opinion, is Qigong. Once you start Qigong you may feel how natural it is to move into doing Tai Chi. Years ago I did both Qigong and Tai Chi. I loved how it made me feel both mentally and physically.

Today I went looking for the book I have and I was thrilled to find this book at Amazon. My book is from 1984. It is wonderful. This book covers the form of Tai Chi I took at the front of the book and Qigong at the back. I so highly recommend it.

I would love to hear your experience with it as I start doing Qigong and Tai Chi again as well!

Please note, these are only my suggestions. You should always consult a doctor first before you start any exercise program.

Exerstrider-What a great way to Exercise-And Keep Your Balance!

One day when I was sitting outside on the porch I say a man walking by with poles. Poles! I had only seen poles with skiing. He had a great stride and a great smile on his face. I thought to myself what a great idea, walking poles!

So I decided to find out more about this – and why walking with poles.

Exerstrider is the #1 Body Walking Poles. Exerstride Method Nordic walking truly is for people of all ages and abilities. Not only do walking poles aid in providing balance, confidence and relief for painful joints, they also help build upper body muscles.

Reducing joint pain and falls and improving posture might provide more than enough reasons to try walking with poles. Add to that maintaining upper body muscle tone and the protection against bone loss that poles may offer as one makes walking a total body weight bearing activity, and it’s no wonder those who have already traded in their canes and walkers (While canes and walkers remain the most often prescribed assistive devices for those needing to take weight and stress off of the joints of the hips, knees and feet, as well as for those in need of balance aids, many are discovering that a pair of specially designed walking poles can provide an even more effective assist.) for Exerstrider fitness walking poles say they’ve put those old fashioned assistive devices away for good.
